What is the difference between HTML and Php?

What is HTML?

HTML is an abbreviation which stands for Hyper Text Markup Language  is a combination of Hyper Text and Markup. HTML is a language used to describe to a browser how to display text and other objects in a browser window. It is not a programming language. HTML works on a client computer (the system on which the page is being viewed). Markup is HTML tags such as opening and closing tags with text inside them by which we can format the text, put hyperlinks, images etc.  HTML acts as basic building blocks for the World Wide Web. HTML is the backbone of any website as it is a major part of the front-end code of every website.

HTML Elements

An HTML element is a start tag and an end tag with content in between:<h1>This is a Heading</h1>

HTML Documents

All HTML documents must start with a document type declaration: <!DOCTYPE html>.

The HTML document itself begins with <html> and ends with </html>.

The visible part of the HTML document is between <body> and </body>.

HTML Headings

HTML headings are defined with <h1> to <h6> tags.

<h1> defines the most important heading. <h6> defines the least important heading:

HTML Paragraphs

HTML paragraphs are defined with <p> tags:

What is Php?

PHP is an acronym which stands for Hypertext Pre-processor.
PHP is a scripting language, and can be used to create web pages written in HTML. PHP runs on the server (the system from which the page comes), and is a full-fledged programming language. Using PHP we can perform so many things such as connect to the database and retrieve information, sending emails to users of a website, encryption of data, storing data in database etc. PHP is the most popular scripting language for dynamic website development etc.

What is the difference between HTML and Php?

  1. Your HTML file will be named with the extension ‘.html‘, while your Php file will have the extension ‘.php‘.
  2. HTML can run from your desktop too. Php, on the other hand, requires a Web Server to run on.
  3. HTML means Hypertext Markup Language and, along with CSS and Javascript, it is called the front-end. PHP means Hypertext Preprocessor and it is a server-side scripting language. This is the back-end.
  4. PHP is dynamic, HTML is static.
